The Cape Winelands Municipality is located just few minutes drive away from Cape Town. It falls understand the Western Cape Municipalities. Paarl and Stellenbosch are neighbouring town each just 35 minutes drive away. Worcester is also not far from Cape Winelands Municipality, just 1 hour drive away.
Cape Winelands Municipality Turn Around Strategy
The LG-TAS as approved by Cabinet on 2 December 2009, acknowledges that to address the challenges of municipalities, an approach that considers the uniqueness of each municipality’s social and economic conditions, different performance levels and support needs is an important consideration.
The Internal Turnaround Strategy (TAS) Task Team of the municipality produced a clear plan with key priorities and targets. The plan has a particular focus on enhancing our performance on basic service delivery, governance, public participation, financial management and local economic development. The LG-TAS is underpinned by rigorous self-assessment by the management and Mayoral Committee of the municipality and was consulted extensively with stakeholders, including the local municipalities in our area.
